Biosphere 2, University of Arizona
Biosphere 2, owned and operated by the University of Arizona, is an Earth systems science research facility and contains representative biomes including a rainforest, an ocean with a coral reef, a mangrove wetlands, a savannah grassland, a fog desert, an agricultural system, a human habitat, and a below-ground infrastructure.. Its mission is to serve as a center for research, outreach, teaching and lifelong learning about Earth, its living systems, and its place in the universe. Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter, University of Arizona Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter is science learning facility located at Steward Observatory's "sky island" observing site just north of Tucson, Arizona. The center’s programs include night-time telescope observations as well as nature programs about the landscape, geology, history and wildlife of the Catalina Mountains. |
